On November 1, 2024, Governor Newsom issued State of Emergency Proclamations for the following fires: the Shelly Fire in Siskiyou County, the Pier Fire in the City of Oceanside, and the Bear Fire in Sierra County. The Shelly Fire prompted evacuation orders and threatened structures, homes, and critical infrastructure. The Pier Fire caused significant damage to the pier and surrounding city infrastructure, impacted air and water quality, and led the United States Coast Guard to establish a safety zone to keep vessels away from hazardous areas. The Bear Fire has intensified due to high winds and dry conditions, prompting evacuation orders and threatening structures, homes, and critical infrastructure.

On November 7, 2024, Governor Newsom issued State of Emergency Proclamation for the Mountain Fire in Ventura County. The Mountain Fire began burning in Ventura County and has burned over 8,000 acres and continues to grow without containment. The Mountain Fire has destroyed and continues to threaten structures, homes, transportation and other critical infrastructure, communication sites, and transmission lines. Low humidities and damaging winds blowing between 50 and 60 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour, have increased the intensity and spread of the Mountain Fire, causing imminent threat to life, with a Red Flag warning in effect in Ventura County.

On September 29, 2024, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the Boyles Fire that has spread through the City of Clearlake in Lake County. The Boyles Fire is threatening structures, homes, and critical infrastructure. The fire has ultimately damaged or destroyed over 30 structures. The high temperatures throughout the day and night, dry conditions, and strong winds increased the intensity and spread of the Boyles Fire, causing imminent threat to life and prompting evacuation orders for thousands of residents. In response to a request from the Governor's Office of Emergency Services, the Federal Emergency Management Agency approved a Fire Management Assistant Grant on September 8, 2024, to assist with the mitigation, management, and control of the Boyles Fire.
